Today is the first day back for teachers in Kanawha County. I have participated in opening day of school for 8 years until today. I'm feeling slightly nostalgic and out of sorts today.
To those of you returning to your classrooms, good luck and have a great year!

You were an amazing teacher in the classroom and out of it. I saw that when I met your students, their parents, your peers, and your supervisors. Those classrooms are not the same today without your presence. But you are doing work now that will make better classrooms for every one of today's teachers and the teachers-to-be that will follow your footsteps...and all those kids that come through their doors.
