Mama's Day, Kids!

In case you don't have your calendars marked already, don't forget that Mother's Day is right around the corner. The world will be celebrating Moms on Sunday, May 10th this year. How do you plan to celebrate this year's Mommy Appreciation Day?

My mom lives in Kansas which makes it a bit hard for us to celebrate WITH her. However, my sister and I have a few ideas brewing to insure that it is a special day for her. If not, we'll not stop hearing about it for years. My mom has a knack for never letting people live down a mistake or two. For instance...

I was born in March of 1977. I was only a few months old that May. My mother had joined the ranks of many before her and would want to legitimately celebrate and be appreciated for being a MOM. Only my father forgot to even buy a card for the new mother. Horror. Panic. Bile.

He woke up on Saturday and remembered what day tomorrow would be. He had royally screwed up, and knew he couldn't approach her empty handed. He made an excuse to run an errand very quickly. He wasn't gone long. He was pleased with his purchase. He knew for sure in the morning he would be out of the dog house and my mother would continue to love and adore both him and the infant Chez.

Until he handed her this...
Only he had taken a Sharpie marker and written on the label across the top "HAPPY" and vertically from the M and D "Mother's" "Day"! He thought he was the cleverest husband and father ever! For my mother's first Mother's Day via my father I bought her a bottle of grape Mad Dog 20/20 with a ghetto-ed Mother's Day message scrawled on the label.

How do you think she reacted? I'm dying to know how you would finish this story? Tell me in the comments. I'll eventually fill you in on the correct ending.

Missing Kitteh!!!!!

My sister lives in the Kanawha City area off of Porter Rd. She woke up this morning to find her door open and her cat missing! (Scary to think that someone might have been in her home while she was there. Luckily, the dog was in her crate in my sister's bedroom.)

If anyone should come across an all black cat with a white spot on her chest, front paws declawed, and answers to Mia (Me-a), please place a comment in the comnent section of this blog. My sister is a wreck. Mia hates the outdoors and needs to come home! Plus, she doesn't have the means to protect herself if she is out wandering in the woods.

MISSING CAT!
LAST SEEN ON PORTER ROAD, LOST OR TAKEN APPROX. 2:00 AM, 4/8/09.
SHE IS BLACK WITH A WHITE PATCH ON HER CHEST AND A WHITE SCAR ON THE BACK OF HER NECK. DECLAWED IN FRONT. ANSWERS TO MIA!
